Description
Hand built stoneware ceramic jug with imprinted design, suitable for all liquids or for a small posy of flowers!
Hand building process
Each jug is made from grey stoneware clay, which dries to an off white. The jug is impressed with a heavy lace design when plastic and side joined with a visible seam. The jug is bisque-fired after a week of drying and then re-fired after glazing to around 1220 degrees celsius. As the jugs are made using a hand building technique, the shapes may be irregular and each item has subtle differences. The process takes more than 2 weeks to complete – this allows for the original rolling out, drying before the first firing, glazing and then final firing and cooling.
The price is for one jug, handmade in my studio in the Surrey Hills
