Description
Stoneware pottery vase with varied hand cut designs, ideal as a contemporary ornament or for arranging flowers!
Hand building process
Each vase is made from grey stoneware clay, which dries to an off white. The vase has been hand built by rolling clay, joining with a visible seam and then cutting and finishing when leather hard. The vase has two firings, the first to around 1060 degrees centigrade and the second, to over 1200 degrees. As the vase is handmade, the shape can be irregular – which reflects the building process. The process takes more than 2 weeks to complete – this allows for the original rolling out, drying before the first firing, glazing with in satin and then final firing and cooling.
The price is for one vase, handmade in my studio in the Surrey Hills
