Stoneware pottery jug with varied textured designs, ideal for all liquids or for arranging flowers!
Hand building process
Each jug is made from grey stoneware clay, which dries to an off white. The jugs are impressed with a range of designs including, dogs, cats, cockerels and horizontal lines, and joined with a visible seam. The mugs have two firings, the first to around 1000 degrees centigrade and the second, to over 1200 degrees. As the mugs are not made using a wheel, the shapes can be irregular – each item is unique! The process takes more than 2 weeks to complete – this allows for the original rolling out, drying before the first firing, glazing and then final firing and cooling.
The price is for one jug, handmade in my studio in the Surrey Hills
