Stoneware pottery coiled bowl ideal for use with Summer salads, serving fruit or fresh nuts, or simply to display in your home
Hand building process
The coils for the bowls are hand rolled from grey stoneware clay and then individual coiled in varying designs around a mould until dry. The bowl then has two firings, the first to around 1000 degrees centigrade and the second, to over 1200 degrees. After the first firing, colour is added to the inside and outer side of the bowl. Whilst every attention is made to refining the bowl, it will be subject to irregularities in shape – each one is unique! The process takes around than 2-3 weeks to complete – this allows for the hand rolling of each coil, drying before the first firing, glazing and then final firing and cooling.
This item can be placed in the dishwasher but I recommend a gentle wipe with a soft cloth due to the delicate nature of the design.
