Each card holder sugar bowl is made from grey stoneware clay, which dries to an off white. The holders are hand built from a slab of clay and when leather hard, individually hand cut. The holders have two firings, the first to around 1000 degrees centigrade and prior the second, to over 1200 degrees glazed on the interior. As the holders are not made using a wheel, the shapes can be irregular – each item is unique! The process takes more than 2 weeks to complete – this allows for the original rolling out, drying before the first firing, glazing and then final firing and cooling.
The price is for one business card holder, handmade in my studio in the Surrey Hills
