Cockerel Sugar Bowl
£29.00
Stoneware lidded sugar bowl and spoon with varied textured designs, ideal for granular sugar types and cubes!
Hand building process
Each sugar bowl is made from grey stoneware clay, which dries to an off white. The bowls are hand built from a slab of clay impressed with a range of designs including, dogs, cats, cockerels and horizontal lines, and then joined with a visible seam. The bowls have two firings, the first to around 1000 degrees centigrade and the second, to over 1200 degrees. As the sugar bowls are not made using a wheel, the shapes can be irregular – each item is unique! The process takes more than 2 weeks to complete – this allows for the original rolling out, drying before the first firing, glazing and then final firing and cooling.
The prices are for one lidded sugar bowl and spoon, handmade in my studio in the Surrey Hills
