Stoneware pottery mug one with cat imprints and one with dog imprints, ideal for drinking tea and coffee!
Hand building process
Each mug is made from grey stoneware clay, which dries to an off white. The mugs are imprinted with range of designs including, dogs, cats, cockerels and horizontal lines, and joined with a visible seam. The mugs have two firings, the first to around 1000 degrees centigrade and the second, to over 1200 degrees. As the mugs are not made using a wheel, the shapes can be irregular – each item is unique! The process takes more than 2 weeks to complete – this allows for the original rolling out, drying before the first firing, glazing and then final firing and cooling.
The price is for a pair of mugs, one with cats and one with dogs imprinted, handmade in my studio in the Surrey Hills
